    Nearsighted/Shortsighted (Myopia)

If things in the distance look blurry, like coral reefs, fish, or boats, you’re likely nearsighted. Our minus (-) prescription lenses bring far-away details into focus, so you can see the underwater world clearly while still keeping close-up vision sharp.

If you see clearly far away but struggle to focus on things up close, like your gauges, camera, or the fish right in front of you, you’re likely farsighted.

Our plus (+) prescription lenses help bring everything into focus at once, making it easier to see clearly both near and far underwater.

Frequently Asked Questions

Oceans Optics helps snorkelers and divers find prescription snorkel masks, prescription dive masks, and underwater vision gear designed for comfort, clarity, and confidence.

1. What does Oceans Optics sell?

Oceans Optics sells prescription snorkel masks, prescription dive masks, swim goggles, and ocean-ready accessories designed to make snorkeling, swimming, and scuba diving clearer, safer, and more enjoyable. Our focus is underwater vision, comfortable fit, and helping you choose the right gear before you get in the water.

2. Do you offer prescription snorkel and dive masks?

Yes. We offer prescription snorkel and dive masks for nearsighted and farsighted vision. Nearsighted lenses use negative SPH values, such as -2.50, while farsighted lenses use positive SPH values, such as +2.00. Each product page shows the lens strengths available for that specific mask.

3. Can I use your prescription masks for snorkeling and scuba diving?

Yes. Our prescription masks use HD tempered glass lenses and are suitable for snorkeling and scuba diving up to 100 ft (30 m). They are designed to help you see clearly underwater without needing to wear glasses or contact lenses in the water.

4. How do I choose the right lens strength?

Start with the SPH or Sphere value from your glasses prescription. Underwater, vision can feel slightly different because water adds natural magnification and mask lenses sit farther from your eyes than glasses. For many people, choosing around 0.50 diopters weaker, closer to zero, gives a more comfortable underwater view.

For the easiest recommendation, use our Underwater Lens Calculator It helps account for underwater refraction, available lens steps, and possible CYL/astigmatism values.

5. Can I get help choosing the right mask?

Yes. You can use our Face-Fit Auto Measure tool to help find a mask that better matches your face size and shape. If you are still unsure, contact us with your prescription, face measurements, or trip details, and we will help guide you toward the best option.

6. Do your masks work for nearsighted and farsighted prescriptions?

Yes. We offer options for both nearsighted and farsighted prescriptions. Nearsighted masks use minus lenses for distance vision, while farsighted masks use plus lenses to help with close-up and overall underwater clarity. Availability depends on the mask model, so check the product page for the exact lens range.

7. How long does delivery usually take?

Most orders arrive within 5 to 10 days, but we recommend allowing up to 14 days to be safe. You will receive tracking by email once your order ships. If you need your mask for a specific trip date, it is best to order as early as possible.

8. What makes Oceans Optics different?

Oceans Optics is not just about selling masks. We help people choose, understand, and use their underwater vision gear properly. Our Face-Fit Auto Measure tool helps with mask fit, our Underwater Lens Calculator helps with prescription choice, and our guides are designed to make snorkeling and diving feel less confusing and more exciting.

We are also building toward a wider ocean mission through reef restoration and artificial reef projects, so clearer underwater vision can become part of something bigger: helping more people enjoy, respect, and protect the ocean.
