Returns and Warranty Policy

At Oceans Optics, your happiness means the world to us! We’re all about making your underwater adventures amazing, and we’re here to help if something isn’t quite right.

1. 30-Day Return Window (from Delivery)

You have 30 days from the day your order arrives to request a return or exchange. To qualify, your item must be unused, in its original packaging, and in the same condition you received it.

Your return should be fully completed within this 30-day window. If there’s a delay caused by us, or you’ve reached out within that timeframe and are waiting on our reply, don’t worry, you’ll still be covered. However, if we don’t hear back after your initial request and the 30 days pass, the return will no longer be eligible.

2. Defective or Incorrect Items

Is something not quite right? If you receive a defective or incorrect item, email us right away at info@oceanoptics.com. We’ll make it right by arranging a replacement or refund.

3. Change of Mind Returns

Changed your mind? No worries, we’ve got you covered! That said, we care deeply about reducing waste and promoting sustainability, so we always encourage you to choose carefully and reach out for professional guidance before ordering if you’re unsure.

Return Shipping: Customers are responsible for return shipping costs on change-of-mind returns, but we’ll waive any restocking fees.

Delivery Timing: If your item arrived within the estimated delivery window (even if it wasn’t as early as you hoped), return shipping costs will still be your responsibility.

Holiday & Trip Timing: Returns aren’t eligible if your mask arrived within our expected timeframe (up to 14 days ±5 days) but didn’t reach you before your trip. We recommend placing your order well ahead of travel to ensure it arrives in time for your adventure.

4. Sizing and Prescription Accuracy

We want you to love your mask and lenses from the very first dive! Because every lens is made to order, it’s important that your prescription comes directly from a qualified optometrist, not an estimate or guess.

If your return is due to the lenses not providing clear vision, we may ask to see a copy of your prescription to confirm the order was placed according to your actual prescription. If you’re unable to provide it, your return may not be eligible.

For reasons related to sizing or prescription accuracy, refunds are issued as store credit, so you can get the right mask.

Note: If you reach out to our pros with your prescription and measurements before ordering and we confirm that the mask will be a perfect match for you, your order will be eligible for a full refund or exchange if it doesn’t work out.

5. 6-Month Limited Warranty

All Oceans Optics masks come with a 6-month warranty covering manufacturing defects. If you spot an issue, email info@oceanoptics.com with photos and details, we’ll help you get it sorted.

Covered: Manufacturing defects (e.g. cracks, seal issues not caused by wear)

A Quick Note on Buckles:

Our buckles are designed for comfort and easy adjustment but should always be handled gently. If a buckle breaks due to a manufacturing defect, it’s fully covered under warranty. However, damage caused by pulling, twisting, or over-tightening isn’t considered a defect. If that happens, don’t worry, we offer cost-price replacement parts to get you back in the water quickly.

6. Prescription Lens Appearance

Prescription lenses are naturally tapered along the edges — this is completely standard in all prescription masks. The stronger your prescription, the more noticeable this taper will be.

Please refer to the lens diagram on each product page for a visual reference before ordering.

Because this is a normal part of prescription lens design, masks aren’t eligible for return based on appearance or slight differences in the viewing area compared to standard tempered glass masks. We just want you to be aware of this in advance so you know exactly what to expect before your dive.

7. Non-Returnable Items

  • Custom Masks (masks with a different lens strength in each eye — assembled specifically for your vision)
  • Snorkels and mask cases
  • Gift cards and digital downloads
  • Items marked as final sale or clearance

8. How to Initiate a Return or Exchange

  1. Go to our “Start a Return” page: found in the main menu.
  2. Or contact us: email our friendly team at info@oceanoptics.com with your order number and details about the item you want to return or exchange.
  3. Get instructions: we’ll send you clear, step-by-step guidance on what to do next.
  4. Prepare the item: pack it securely in its original packaging, including all accessories, manuals, and paperwork.
  5. Ship it back: use a trackable shipping method to send it our way. If the return is due to a defect or error on our end, we’ll provide a prepaid shipping label.

9. Refunds and Processing

  • Inspection: Once we receive your return, we’ll inspect it and notify you if your refund has been approved.
  • Refund Method: Approved refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 5–7 business days.
  • Exchanges: If you’ve requested an exchange, we’ll ship the new item as soon as your return is processed.

10. Exceptions and Exclusions

Condition of Returned Items: Items that aren’t in their original condition, such as those that appear used, damaged, or missing parts for reasons not related to our error, may only qualify for a partial refund or, in some cases, no refund.

  • Sale items and gift cards are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.
  • Returns requested after the 30-day window will not be accepted.
  • Any free gifts must also be included in the package to receive a full refund.

11. International Returns

For orders outside the U.S., return shipping costs, duties, and taxes are the customer’s responsibility unless the item is defective or we made a mistake.
