Title: The Mystery of the Deep: Why I’ll Never Dive Without a Prescription Mask Again

Diving’s always full of surprises, especially when you decide to escape the usual spots and explore the unknown. That’s exactly what my buddy Sam and I did one clear, calm day—we decided to venture off the dive site into uncharted waters, taking a path that maybe no one has ever walked.

As we ventured further from the usual dive trails, I noticed a large, obscure shape in the distance. It was too murky to make out what it was, and my curiosity piqued. “Man, I wish I could see that,” I muttered into my regulator. I want to know what it is. We both glanced at each other, Sam stuck his arm out pointing towards the mysterious creature. We confirmed limits; Everythings all good, so we signalled and decided to investigate.

The closer we got, the more I realized just how big this thing was, It hovered there, ominously still, then suddenly turned and made sharpflick around and faced right towards us. Must of been 6 feet and chunky.

It started making its way towards us and then suddenly took a 90 degrees turn. Its started circling us, slowly at first, but then itis sopeed kept rising.

It was that moment we realised we had fucked up.

We were out in the deep, staring down something huge and alive. I flashed Sam the signal, and we agreed it was time to make a dash for it, fast. We couldn’t ascend quickly due to decompression risks, so we stayed low & powered back to the reef, were gling through the water slmost flying over the sand and manoeuvring around boulderas and coral, heart rate elevating, breathing is getting heavy so I glance back nervously to check, the creature was gone, or so I thought. Just as we started to relax, it zoomed towards us like a torpedo. It shot right over our heads and in that flash, we saw it clearly—a gigantic barracuda! It darted off after a squid that was using us as shelter. Then suddenly a big cloud of ink shot out from the squid, the barracuda confused and struggling to see anything starts swimming of with disappointment.

The adrenaline was real. Sam and I looked at each other, our eyes wide with shock and a hint of awe. It was a reminder of the raw, wild parts of nature you can only experience firsthand.

That dive taught me one crucial lesson: Dont overestimate your vision. Underwater we need to see clearly. Rx Prescription masks should be everywhere.

Seeing clearly underwater isn’t just about the view—it’s about safety, knowing your surroundings, and being prepared for anything. And from that very day i've always worn RX.
