Nearsighted Prescription Lenses Explained
-
How Rx Lenses Work
Nearsighted diopter lenses move the focal point so distant objects snaps into focus underwater.
Despite the name Nearsighted, they improve overall scene clarity across common dive distances by bending light towards the retina.
Because water makes things look larger and closer, many divers choose a slightly lower magnitude than their glasses.
-
How To Choose Your Minus Lenses
- Use the Sphere value from your latest prescription.
- Select the closest minus power in 0.50 steps. Remember to round down toward 0!
- Most divers go 0.25 to 0.50 weaker than their glasses due to water magnification.
- Choose each eye separately if your Sphere values differ.
Quality you can feel! Tempered glass lenses for sharp, durable optics, plus hypoallergenic silicone skirts for a comfortable, leak resistant seal.
